Respiratory bacteria - atypical pneumonia (PCR)

In contrast to "typical" pneumonia which is often caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae among others, the "atypical" pneumonia is mostly caused by pathogens like Mycoplasma pneumoniae or Chlamydophila pneumoniae.
Often the symptoms of atypical pneumonia tend to be milder than those of typical pneumonia.
