Cytology and Extragenital Cytology at labor team
The Cytological Department of our laboratory deals with the examination of individual body cells. Everything that can be obtained by means of fluid excretion, smear or puncture serves as examination material: sputum, bronchial secretions, urine, (mucous) skin, effusions (pleura, ascites, joints), cerebrospinal fluid, fine needle punctates from organs, etc. The cell samples are processed in the laboratory and assessed microscopically to diagnose pathological changes quickly and reliably.

Our cytology laboratory specialises in the diagnosis of tumours and the examination of prognostic and predictive markers. We use the latest techniques, including in situ methods, PCR-based methods and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). In this way, we support doctors in choosing the right therapy and optimal medication for their patients.
